Il n'existait pratiquement pas de différences externes entre un MiG-25RBS muni d'un radar à balayage latéral Sablya et un MiG-25RBCh doté d'un SLAR Chompol. Toutefois, les MiG-25RBCh étaient en principe équipés du détecteur d'alerte et de localisation radar SPO-15 dont une partie des antennes se trouvaient au-dessus de l'entrée d'air des réacteurs. Celui-ci a été photographié lors de la journée portes ouvertes de Finow en 1991.

There was virtually no external differences between a MiG-25RBS equipped with a Sablya SLAR and a MiG-25RBSh equipped with a Shompol model.
