Le viseur périscopique rétractable OPB-1R nécessaire pour larguer des bombes était monté du côté droit du poste de pilotage. Son extrémité dépassait sous le nez de l'hélicoptère lorsqu'il était utilisé. Ces photos ayant été prises dans un Mi-8TVK est-allemand, ce dernier était également équipé d'un joystick que l'on distingue en haut à gauche, destiné au contrôle des missiles antichars (voir page suivante pour une description).

The OPB-1R retractable periscopic bombsight was mounted on the right side of the cockpit. The end of the bombsight was protruding under the nose of the helicopter when in use. These picture were taken inside an East German Mi-8TVK and one can see top left the joystick used to guide the ATGM (see next page for a description).
