Eté 2013, au-dessus de la Lituanie : un Il-20M est intercepté et photographié par des Mirage F1CR de l'Escadron 2/33 de l'Armée de l'air détachés à Siauliai dans le cadre de "Baltic Air Policing."
Le RF-93610, c/n 173011504 n'est autre que l'ancien bort nomer 21 de Sperenberg, toujours actif près de vingt ans après son retrait d'Allemagne ! (voir également cette > Photo).
Edit : Cet avion a été abattu par le tir ami d'un missile tiré depuis un système S-200 "Vega" Syrien au large de Latakia le 17 septembre 2018, entraînant la perte de l'équipage de 15 hommes.

RF-93610 s/n 173011504 was none other than former bort number 21 from Sperenberg, still active almost twenty years after its withdrawal from Germany! (Also see this > Photo).
Edit: This aircraft was shot down by the friendly fire of a Syrian S-200 "Vega" SAM battery off Latakia on September 17, 2018 with the loss of the complete crew of 15.
