Le montage de ce dernier n'empêchait pas l'emport d'un réservoir ventral PTB-800. Le mécanicien devant la dérive manie l'enregistreur de vol.

We can see on this MiG-21SM of the 730.APIB the larger fuselage spine to be compared with the MiG-21PFM in the background, two pylons under each wings and the ventral GSh-23L gun. The presence of the latter did not prevent the carriage of a PTB-800 ventral fuel tank. The mechanic in front of the fin was handling the flight recorder.
