In 1970 (the centenary of Lenin's birth) the Byelorussian Komsomol' youth organisation
presented the regiment with a red banner. That event was thereafter commemorated
by the application of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League (VLKSM) red flag behind the
cockpit of aircraft n°12. The mention "Komsomol'skiy  Ekipazh" (Komsomol’ Crew) was also
written in red below the cockpit. Badge and text were painted on the aircraft right side only.
